Peter was the son of JACOB and MARY NEWMYER.  He was born on MAY 29, 1760 in Berks County, PA.  He was married to SUSANNAH RHOADS.  They had 14 children.  Peter was a farmer all his life.  His farm and buildings are still standing and are located on RICHEY ROAD.  They are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  He passed away on MARCH 13, 1836.  He is buried in the Pennsville Independent Cemetery.
